WELCOME TO NEW MEMBERS OF OUR CHURCH FAMILY:

Doyle and Dionne Wills,Gracie Wills,Nichole Evans and Chance Smith

During the delivery of “goodies” to our shut-ins I had the privilege of visiting with Edna Barnes. Edna is a member of Burlington Baptist. Edna will be 94 her next birthday.

She is Leroy Edward’s aunt, and the only surviving Child of Josiah and Melissa Edwards, Leroy’s grandparents. She still lives by herself. Josiah was one of the first deacons at Burlington.

Edna says she remembers her grandparents and others talking about the Civil war. Her grandfather, my great-grandfather, Levi Edwards, was 13 years old in 1860 in East Tennessee, when the Civil war started. Edna loves her Lord, and is a joy to be around.

CHRISTMAS PLAY

Don't Forget Jesus

Christmas is a special time
To reflect on Jesus Christ
The wonder of His lowly birth
Brings meaning to our lives

There really is no other reason
We celebrate this day
The birth of God's precious son
And the life He willingly gave

But so much seems to distract us
In the busy-ness of our lives
We lose our focus in all the happenings
Not knowing, we leave out Christ

We lose sight of the true meaning
As we endlessly rush about
Trying to find that perfect gift
Seems to cloud our Saviour out

We need to stop and reflect awhile
Remembering our precious Lord
His birth, His life and sacrifice
And all that He stands for

For though the world may celebrate
It seems though for other reasons
Let's keep in mind that Jesus Christ
Is the true meaning of the season

EXCITING SUNDAY

We had 98 in worship services this morning. Bro. Ray our assistant pastor taught on the Old Testament Tabernacle in priests costume. He comtinued with a Sunday evening message concerning the High Priest and the Day of Atonement. THE MUSIC, AS ALWAYS WAS GREAT.

GREAT WEEK!!

What a great week we have had. In our Wednesday business meeting we approved an annual budget. This if the first time in the 98 year history of our church that we have actually had a planned budget. Ruth Fisher and her committee did a great job. We also approved a slate of workers for the coming year. Thank you, Sue Bryant and your committee.

WORKING WORKING WORKING

I always get excited when I see things getting done. Thanks to Wayne Argo who has lead the way, and others who have helped we have the Sunday rooms finished. We are getting close to having our baptistery in place and ready to use. I notice that some work has been done on the road bank of our parking area. The ladies are talking about adding some more to our playground.

We will be considering a new constitution and by-laws. We will be working on a new budget for the upcoming church year. The nominating committee is working to present a slate of workers for the new church year.

Our attendance is up, so some folks must be working to invite new folks to our church. Our music program is great with a stage full of band members and choir. Darlene is doing a great job of leading our music, and all our musicians are playing with the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

PRAISE BE TO GOD, ALL IN ALL THINGS ARE GOING GREAT.

WE DO HAVE SOME SPECIAL PRAYER NEEDS. THEY ARE LISTED IN THE SUNDAY BULLETIN AND WE TAKE EXTRA TIME ON SUNDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT TO SHARE SPECIAL PRAYER NEEDS AND PRAISE REPORTS.

IT'S ALL GOOD!!

IT'S ALL GOOD!!!

What a great time we have had in the last couple of weeks.

1. We baptized a new believer in the cool water of Bear Creek Springs. Congratulations to Linda Auch.

2. We have had a Husband and wife join our fellowship. We welcome the Talons to our fellowship

3. We have ordained Leonard Bryant to the Deacon ministry. Many have expressed how much of a blessing it was to witness an ordination on Sunday morning

Well, we had about 100 in church last Sunday. Let's keep working, not just for numbers, but for souls.
